What is the minimum hire period?

One active hire day. Delivery the day before and collection the day after are not charged as hire days.

How does delivery work?

Specialist delivery, positioning and collection are included in your hire price. Our approved, insured movers handle the instrument. Non-standard access is assessed and quoted in advance.

Is the piano tuned?

The piano is performance-ready on arrival. Any extra tuning, including tuning on show days, is quoted separately.

What access do you need at the venue?

We need a level, boarded route wide enough for the instrument on its trolley, with parking close to the entrance. Steps, lifts and tight turns are fine when we know in advance — tell us on your enquiry and we'll advise.

Is the piano insured?

Accepted Answer

Our policy covers the piano while it is on site, with a £250 excess. You may add a one-off £50 excess waiver. The waiver does not cover damage in transport; because we arrange delivery and collection, transport risk remains with us and our appointed mover.

Do you take a damage deposit?

A date is reserved when we receive a deposit of 30% of the hire fee. The deposit is deducted from your final invoice.

What is your cancellation policy?

We first offer to move your reservation to another available date. If you cancel more than 8 weeks before the hire, the deposit is returned. Between 8 and 4 weeks, 50% of the hire fee is payable. Within 4 weeks, the full hire fee is payable.

Are prices inclusive of VAT?

All prices exclude VAT. VAT is added at 20%; your quotation shows both figures.

Can you supply a pianist or stool and cover?

How does the hire process work?

Choose an instrument and tell us your dates, venue and access details. We confirm availability and send an itemised quotation. A 30% deposit reserves your date. Specialist delivery, positioning and collection are included in your hire price. Optional extras, such as tuning at the venue, are itemised separately.

Who can hire from you?

Concert halls and festivals, recording studios, film and television productions, private events and weddings, schools and conservatoires, and private clients who simply want a great instrument at home for a period of time.

What pianos do you have?

Fully restored Bechstein and Blüthner grands, and the Yamaha CFX concert grand. Class A covers our concert and prestige instruments; Class B covers our large salon grands.

Question 13

How long can I hire a piano for?

From a single active hire day. The first day is charged at the single-day rate, days 2 to 28 at the additional-day rate, and days 29 to 90 at the long-stay rate. Delivery and collection days are not counted. For more than 90 days, contact us for a personal quotation.

Are your pianos really antiques?

Several are. Our Bechsteins date from 1897 and 1926, and the Blüthner Kaiser Jubilee from around 1899. Each has been fully rebuilt — new bespoke soundboard, new tuning plank, restored action, new finish — so they play with modern reliability while keeping their original character.
